 Spicy Vegan Meat Crumble (Bold & Smoky)

🥣 Ingredients:

  • 1 cup textured vegetable protein (TVP) or cooked lentils

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 3 garlic cloves, minced

  • 1 small onion, diced

  • 1 red chili or 1 tsp chili flakes

  • 2 tbsp tomato paste

  • 1 tbsp soy sauce or tamari

  • 1 tsp liquid smoke (optional but 🔥)

  • 1 tsp smoked paprika

  • 1/2 tsp cumin

  • 1/2 tsp oregano

  • 1 tsp maple syrup or coconut sugar

  • Salt & black pepper to taste

  • 1/2 cup veggie broth or water (for rehydrating TVP)


🍳 Instructions:

  1. Prep the Base
    If using TVP: Pour hot veggie broth over it and let it rehydrate for 5–10 mins.
    If using lentils: Have them cooked and ready.

  2. Sauté the Flavors
    In a skillet, heat olive oil. Sauté onion, garlic, and chili until fragrant.

  3. Build the Heat
    Add tomato paste, soy sauce, liquid smoke, paprika, cumin, and oregano. Stir to combine.

  4. Add the “Meat”
    Toss in your rehydrated TVP or lentils. Cook for 5–7 mins until everything is browned and flavorful.

  5. Finish Sweet & Spicy
    Stir in maple syrup, season with salt and pepper, and cook another 2 mins.
